iOS 15: How “Focus” works

iOS 15: How "Focus" works

This week, iOS 15 was rolled out. Among other things, there is a new feature called focus. This is how it works. […]

Focus is the name of a new feature that has found its way onto the iPhones with iOS 15. Similar to the do not disturb function, it should be possible to control when which apps are allowed to “disturb” and when which are not. For this you can program routines in the focus function. That’s it.

  1. Swipe from top to bottom to see the notification center.
  2. Tap Focus.
  3. Select one of the prepared scenarios or tap the plus icon to develop your own scenario.
  4. For example, time for me: After selecting, tap Next.
  5. Select from which persons messages and/or calls may be pushed or transmitted. Then tap Allow.
  6. Select which apps are allowed to send push notifications in this scenario and tap Allow.
  7. Tap Done.
  8. After that, you will be redirected to the scenario, where you can still refine it. Which apps should be visible on the home and lock screen when this focus is active?
  9. Under Add Schedule or Automation, select whether you want this focus to take effect automatically at a specific time or location (measured by GPS) – or even when you open a specific app. If you do not configure anything there, simply activate the focus manually in the future.
