Ivanti Neurons for Zero Trust Access Expands to End-to-End Security Services Edge Solution
Ivanti and Lookout today announced an important collaboration. The aim of the cooperation is to support companies in accelerating cloud adoption and improving their zero-trust security position in the “Everywhere Workplace”. Lookout is a leading provider of endpoint-to-cloud security. Ivanti is the provider of the Ivanti Neurons automation platform, which discovers, manages, secures and maintains IT assets from the cloud to the edge.
Integration of Ivanti Neurons for Zero Trust Access with Lookout’s Secure Service Edge technologies enables companies to improve their security level according to the zero trust principle
Ivanti and Lookout have integrated their industry–leading technologies – Ivanti Neurons for Zero Trust Access (ZTA), Lookout Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) and Lookout Secure Web Gateway (SWG) – to help customers achieve complete threat prevention and data security both on-premises and in the cloud, inside and outside the network, while adhering to Zero Trust Access security principles.
The pandemic has triggered a huge change in the way and where people work. According to Gartner, hybrid workplaces are on the rise. Worldwide, 96 percent of employees who currently work remotely, at least temporarily, want to continue to do so. Gartner predicts that 47 percent of knowledge workers will be working remotely this year, compared to 27 percent in 2019 (Gartner, How to Cultivate Effective Remote Work Marketing Teams, April 25, 2022). Ivanti’s 2022 Everywhere Workplace Report also highlights this development of work: almost three quarters of respondents (71 percent) said that they would rather work from anywhere than get a promotion.
Companies today face many security challenges when it comes to protecting business data and identifying and preventing threats in the new hybrid work landscape. First of all, companies often have no insight into and no control over who accesses corporate resources hosted in both managed and unmanaged clouds. This makes comprehensive access and security control difficult. At the same time, hackers are exploiting security gaps in the IT infrastructure of companies and are increasingly targeting mobile devices. A recent study has shown that phishing attacks have increased by 700 percent in the first six months of 2021 alone.
“We are excited to partner with Lookout to help companies solve these challenges,” said Nayaki Nayyar, president and Chief product Officer at Ivanti. “This partnership allows us to expand the Ivanti Neurons for ZTA solution with CASB and SWG technologies through the Lookout Security Platform. Our three core technologies solve different but equally important security problems. When used together, they enable organizations to have a secure cloud adoption, better end-user experience, and comprehensive zero trust security posture.“
The joint solution from Ivanti and Lookout helps companies to better protect their data, regardless of the access or hosting method. It makes it possible to prevent data leaks with adaptive and contextual data protection controls. Compliance policies can also be enforced with granular controls that take into account the owner of the device, the location of the resource, the current state of the device, and the sensitivity of the data. This makes it possible to detect threats inside and outside the network. The solution extends the Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology with User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA). It provides granular access security per application and per device according to the protocols of the Software Defined Perimeter architecture and provides CASB functions to protect against data loss and data theft in SaaS applications. The solution continuously monitors the security situation of the clients and allows application access based on this situation.
In addition, the joint solution enables companies to integrate cloud applications into a best-of-breed ecosystem for Zero Trust and Secure Service Edge (SSE) without having to replace existing solutions. It thus enables smooth business continuity in a hybrid deployment.
“We share Ivanti’s commitment to helping customers modernize their IT, detect and mitigate threats, and create a secure and productive environment for hybrid employees. Together, we provide secure access and advanced data protection for all users, devices and applications,” commented Jim Dolce, CEO of Lookout. “By joining forces with Ivanti, Ivanti customers now have a clear path to a zero trust security strategy, supported by our innovative, data-centric cloud security solutions. Our solution is optimized to simplify security processes suitable for remote work and digital transformation to the cloud.“
