Veeam 2021 with 27 percent growth

After the 16th consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, CEO Anand Eswaran wants to lead the company into the next phase of growth. […]

For Veeam Software, provider of backup, recovery and data management solutions, 2021 will be the most successful year in the company’s history. Among other things, the company was able to expand its Microsoft Office 365 business faster than expected with year-on-year growth of 73 percent. In addition, the Veeam Availability Suite achieved growth of over 36 percent compared to the previous year.

“IDC expects the total data protection-as-a-service (DPaaS) market to reach $18.4 billion by 20253,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, “and given the current global landscape and the fact that companies now need to protect more data than ever before – due to ransomware and cyber attacks, compliance and new regulations, and the complexity of remote work environments – I believe that the opportunity in the market is even greater than predicted.“

Anand Eswaran was appointed Veeam’s new CEO and a member of the company’s Board of Directors in 2021. William (Bill) H. Largent stepped down as CEO to focus on his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Eswaran joined Veeam after a successful stint at RingCentral, where he oversaw exponential growth and customer expansion as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Cloud services bring growth

Data storage in the cloud is massively driving growth. Veeam moved more than 500 PB (0.5 EX) of data to public cloud storage in 2021, representing 135 percent year-over-year growth. More than 450,000 users have downloaded Veeam Backup & Replication v11 since its launch in Q1 2021. Veeam serves 81 percent of the Fortune 500 and 70 percent of the Global 2000.
