Google Cloud and several data and analytics providers are launching an initiative to facilitate data access and optimize digital transformation. […]
Google Cloud has founded the Data Cloud Alliance with other providers in the areas of data (-base), analytics and storage, as the company writes in a statement. With the initiative, the founders want to support companies in gaining easier access to or insight into data that they need for a digital transformation.
The founding members include:
Accenture, Confluent, Databricks, Dataiku, Deloitte, Elastic, Fivetran, MongoDB, Neo4j, Redis and Starbust.
According to the Communiqué, the alliance members provide infrastructure, programming interfaces (APIs) and integration support.
This applies to both on-premise and public, private and hybrid cloud.
In the future, each alliance member will work on new, industry-standard data models, processes and platform integrations in order to jointly increase data portability and reduce the complexity associated with data governance and global compliance.
