Marc O'Polo tailors digital workplace

The fashion chain Marc O’Polo from Stephanskirchen near Munich has implemented several workplace systems from Citrix. Specifically, it is about Virtual Apps and Desktops, Gateway, Analytics for Security and Analytics for Performance. “Our goal is to create conditions under which our 2,000 employees worldwide can fully develop their creativity and work together optimally, no matter where they are,” says Matthias Holzner, Manager IT Application & Collaboration at Marc O’Polo.

The switch to a digital workplace is connected with a major IT reorganization, which the fashion retailer launched in 2019. At that time, the company suffered a ransomware attack. As a result, Holzner wanted to improve security and – also with the support of Citrix – moved the management of the IT environment to the cloud. Since then, Marc O’Polo only operates servers with virtual applications in-house.

“This ensures that all updates and security patches are installed automatically and that the environment is always up to date,” explains Holzner. He attributes the Citrix Analytics for Security software “a central role in the entire security strategy of the company”.

The manager expects the Analytics for Performance application to enable employees to work productively at all times. A summary and presentation of all relevant performance data should provide insights and concrete suggestions for troubleshooting, with which the Marc O’Polo team can quickly identify and fix problems.

Marc O’Polo, founded in Stockholm in 1967, has been in German hands since 1997. The textile company sees its clothing and accessories for women, men and children in the upper mid-price or lower premium segment.
