The fastest Fritzbox of all time – this is how the Berlin ICT manufacturer AVM advertises its new model 5590 Fiber, which should realize Internet speeds of up to 10 Gbit / s in the future. It supports the common fiber optic standards AON, GPON and XGS-PON and is suitable nationwide for connections of all Internet providers such as Deutsche Glasfaser or Deutsche Telekom.

Like other Fritzbox models, the 5590 Fiber also has versatile networking options. In the WLAN with standard Wi-Fi 6 (4 x 4), data rates of up to 2,400 Mbit / s are achieved at 5 GHz, the manufacturer promises – in the 2.4 GHz band it is up to 1,200 Mbit / s.

Wired applications can also be implemented via a 2.5 Gigabit WAN/LAN port and four Gigabit LAN ports.

Other features include mesh support, a telephone system with answering machines, a DECT base for the use of cordless phones and smart home products as well as two USB 3.0 ports.

The FritzOS provides well-known features such as firewall, parental control, remote access / VPN, WLAN guest access and regular updates.

The FRITZ!Box 5590 Fiber is now available in stores for 289 euros and additionally via Internet providers. As usual, AVM also gives a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty on this model.
