What began in spring 2021 with a handful of tailor-made, interactive online courses has developed into a comprehensive and continuously expanded learning platform for IT professionals over the past 12 months. Currently, the Heise Academy has already grown to more than 60 online courses for autonomous learning as well as 100 interactive online live trainings and conferences in the six specialties, ‘IT Security’, ‘Machine Learning’, ‘Networks &Cloud’, ‘Software Development’, ‘Web Technologies’ as well as ‘Containers and Kubernetes’. In total, several hundred hours of video material can be accessed anywhere in the office, home office or on the go.
Flat-rate model supports flexible lifelong learning
“What is new is that we have now introduced an annual subscription model due to high demand from companies and employees. This gives subscribers access to the entire learning library of the Heise Academy via a flat rate. This supports the idea of lifelong learning, as users can acquire the content flexibly throughout the year,” says Daniel Kalbeck, founder and Managing director of the digital learning platform developer Codeversity, and explains: “The Heise Plus digital subscription program from Heise Medien now has more than 400,000 users, with your log-in you can also register directly with the Heise Academy – this shows how scalable the model of a digital academy is.“ In the coming months, the practice-oriented learning offer tailored to individual user needs will be gradually expanded.
A forward-looking alternative to face-to-face teaching
The Heise Academy not only provides the learners with content, but also actively accompanies them in their learning progress. It is based on the further developed Codeversity Campus (cockpits and dashboards for digital teaching and learning) and the Production Suite, consisting of platforms for course and content production (“create”) and for the operation and administration of digital academies (“operate”). They enable brain-friendly, adaptive, interactive and playful knowledge transfer via digital media and channels. These systems have been specially tailored to the requirements of IT specialists with Heise Medien and combine both asynchronous and synchronous forms of teaching and learning, which can be flexibly adapted to any type of learning.
