JavaScript survey: these are the most important Frameworks and Tools of 2018

A recent survey shows that front-end Frameworks, Testing tools and Tools in 2018 were particularly popular among JavaScript developers. Let’s take a look at the results.

More and more JavaScript developers are of the opinion that the JavaScript Ecosystem is developing in the right direction. At the same time, developers agree with the statement that JavaScript development to be overly complex. The State of JavaScript 2018, an annual developer survey, which has now been published for the third Time.

JavaScript 2018: In the Frontend area, there is no bigger Surprise

Not surprisingly, React is the best known and most of the developers used front-end Framework. Almost 65 percent of the respondents developers have used it before and would do it again. Further 19.1% have heard of React and would like to use the Framework like. Vue.js was used significantly less outstaffing developers (28.8 percent), after all, more 46.6 percent, but the Framework is interested in.

Significantly Angular is cut off, while 23.9 percent of the respondents have used the Framework before and would do it again, however, 34 percent of the surveyed developers said almost, you would have Angular ever used, but would not use the Framework. In React, this value is at 6.7 percent and Vue.js at 2.8 percent. Basically, the satisfaction of JavaScript developers is increased with your front-end Framework in the last year.

The Testing area is significantly more competitive

It comes to Testing, then two Tools front: Jest and Mocha are especially. To said two of 39.6, respectively, 39.5 per cent of the respondents said they had used it once, and would do so again. At Mocha, the number of those who have used it already, and want to avoid it in the future, with 8.4 percent, significantly higher than in Jest, with only 1.4 percent. In addition, a higher proportion of the respondents that have used Jest still carries himself with the thought to change that.

In the Build Tools, Webpack is significantly ahead of all other Alternatives. Place 2 Gulp. Then Grunt, Browserify and Rollup follow. By far the most popular Editor is Microsoft’s Visual Studio Code. Behind it is a proprietary text editor, Sublime Text will follow at a considerable distance. Just behind the Open-Source Tool Vim follows. Its older rival, Emacs needs to join, however, still behind WebStorm and GitHubs Atom.
